Power Grid Share Price In Focus As Company Secures Transmission Project Bid

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited witnessed a marginal decline on September 17. The stock price is in focus after the company announced a key development.
Power Grid Declared Successful Bidder Under TBCB
Power Grid has been declared the successful bidder under Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding to establish an inter-state transmission system project. The initiative, titled “Inter-regional (NR-WR) Transmission System strengthening to relieve the loading of 765 kV Vindhyachal-Varanasi D/c line,” will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. The company received the Letter of Intent on September 16, 2025.
The project includes setting up a new 765 kV sub-station at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, along with associated transmission lines traversing Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh
Power Grid Share Price Performance
Power Grid share price reflected a minor decline of 0.52% on September 17, quoted at ₹286.85 on NSE as of 1:57 PM.
Waiver Of Fines Granted By NSE
In a separate communication, Power Grid informed that it has received a waiver of fines earlier levied by NSE under various provisions of the SEBI LODR regulations.
The fines had been imposed for delays in compliance with requirements related to Board meeting quorum, Audit Committee, Nomination and Remuneration Committee, Stakeholders Relationship Committee, and Risk Management Committee across the quarters ended December 2024, March 2025 and June 2025. NSE favourably considered the waiver application submitted by the company on September 12, 2025.
