PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, launched in October 2021, has demonstrated substantial progress in infrastructure project evaluation and integration. The initiative has transformed infrastructure planning through comprehensive geospatial platforms and multi-modal connectivity solutions across India.

293 Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹13.59 Lakh Crore Evaluated

Since launch, the Network Planning Group mechanism has evaluated 293 infrastructure projects amounting to ₹13.59 lakh crore through integrated planning approaches. The evaluation process emphasises multimodality, inter-modality, synchronisation of efforts, of government approach, and last-mile connectivity in project catchment areas.

Comprehensive Institutional Framework Established

57 Central Ministries and Departments have been onboarded, including 8 Infrastructure, 22 Social, and 27 Economic ministries. Additionally, 36 States and Union Territories participate in the platform. This extensive institutional framework ensures coordinated infrastructure development across governmental levels.

Advanced Geospatial Platform with 1,700 Data Layers

The platform integrates approximately 1,700 data layers, comprising 969 layers from States and UTs and 731 layers from Central Ministries. This comprehensive geospatial integration enables evidence-based infrastructure planning and decision-making through georeferenced data analysis.

₹5,000 Crore Special Assistance Provision

While PM GatiShakti has no separate fund allocation, the Ministry of Finance provided ₹5,000 crore through the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment in 2022-23. This funding supports PMGS-related infrastructure development amongst participating states.
