NTPC Green Energy Limited has announced the declaration of commercial operation (COD) of a 50 MW solar capacity in Bhuj, Gujarat, effective 24 August 2025. This milestone adds to the growing renewable portfolio of the NTPC Group and increases its total installed capacity to 83,341 MW.

The announcement was made in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The disclosure was dated 22 August 2025 and highlighted the COD of part capacity in a solar project operated by a group company of NTPC Green Energy Limited.
Overview of the Bhuj Solar Project
The declared COD pertains to 50 MW out of the total 150 MW solar project located in Bhuj, Gujarat. The project is developed by Ayana Renewable Power Four Private Limited, a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd.
The latter is a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, a joint venture between ONGC and NTPC.

With the addition of this 50 MW capacity, the commercial capacity of NGEL Group has risen to 7,197.575 MW. Post-inclusion, the total installed capacity of NGEL Group has reached 7,247.575 MW, reflecting its steady expansion in the renewable energy domain.

The broader NTPC Group’s total installed and commercial capacity now stands at 83,341 MW. This figure represents contributions from both conventional and renewable energy assets under NTPC and its subsidiaries.

As of 25 August 2025, 09:44 IST, NTPC Limited’s share price was trading at ₹339.30, marking an increase of ₹2.30 or 0.68% from the previous close of ₹337.00. The stock opened at ₹337.05 and touched an intraday high of ₹341.40 with a low of ₹337.05. The volume weighted average price (VWAP) stood at ₹339.77.
