On August 25, 2026, as of 11:33 AM IST, the NIFTY SMALLCAP 100 index was trading at 19,877.40, down by 49.35 points or 0.25%. 

NIFTY SMALLCAP 100 Index Performance 

The NIFTY SMALLCAP 100 index opened at 19,911.40, making a trading range between a high of 19,926.10 and a low of 19,832.70.  

The last trading price (LTP) was recorded at 19,877.40. The index witnessed a minor decline of 49.35 points, marking a 0.25% decrease from the previous close of 19,926.75.  

The market breadth showed 38 advances, 62 declines, and 0 unchanged stocks. The overall trading volume for the index stood at 19,43,36,104 shares, with a total transactional value of ₹6,981.38 crore. 

Performance of Top Traded Stocks 

During the trading session, Kaynes Technology India (KAYNES) led the positive momentum among the actively traded players, opening at ₹3,859.30 and rising by ₹115.40 (3.01%) to reach a last traded price of ₹3,955.60, while IFCI also pushed higher from an opening price of ₹82.65 to trade at ₹83.75, securing a solid advance of ₹1.27 (1.54%).  

On the flip side, Hindustan Copper (HINDCOPPER) faced heavy downward pressure, opening at ₹542.00 and slipping sharply by ₹40.45 (7.05%) to settle at ₹533.70, and Netweb Technologies India (NETWEB) similarly weighed on the index, starting the session at ₹5,400.00 and declining by ₹218.30 (4.00%) to a last traded price of ₹5,236.20. 

Other Key Constituents' Performance 

The rest of the small-cap constituents showed highly mixed results across the board, with Welspun Corp (WELCORP) remaining practically flat after booking a micro loss of ₹0.20 (0.01%) to close at ₹2,409.00, while Data Patterns (India) (DATAPATTNS) dropped by ₹176.00 (3.72%) to trade at ₹4,560.20, and IIFL Finance (IIFL) witnessed a downward correction, shedding ₹25.55 (3.67%) to sit at ₹670.85.  

Meanwhile, defensive buying helped Great Eastern Shipping Company (GESHIP) manage a positive move, gaining ₹16.50 (1.24%) to reach ₹1,349.50, as Capri Global Capital (CGCL) climbed higher by ₹6.17 (2.63%) to trade at a last price of ₹240.49. 

Broader Market Impact 

The 52-week high for the NIFTY SMALLCAP 100 index stands at 20,080.30, while the 52-week low is at 14,986.00. Over the last 30 days, the index performance reflects a strong positive trajectory with a change of 5.31%. Over a 365-day horizon, the index has gained 10.98%.
