The NSE Nifty Financial Services Index opened the September 7, 2026, session with a positive bias at 26,069.90 and registered an intraday high of 26,080.60 soon after opening. The index later touched an intraday low of 25,910.50.

The Nifty Financial Services Index opened above its previous close of 26,051.00 at the 26,069.90 level and registered an intraday high of 26,080.60.  

As the session progressed, continuous selling pressure emerged, dragging the index down by over 170 points from its session high to touch an intraday low of 25,910.50.  

At 1:06 PM, the index was trading at 25,933.20, down by 117.80 points or 0.45% on September 7, 2026. 

Advance Decline Ratio of Nifty Financial Services 

The advance decline ratio of Nifty Financial Services remained weak during the afternoon session on September 7, 2026, as only 3 constituents of the index managed to trade in the green, while a significant majority of 17 stocks were trading in the red, leaving 0 stocks unchanged. 

Top Gainers and Losers of Nifty Financial Services on September 7, 2026 

The financial services index recorded mixed movements across its components during the session. Among the gainers, SBI Cards (SBICARD) led the positive traction with a Last Traded Price (LTP) of 665.10, gaining 6.85 points (+1.04%).  

It was followed by BSE Limited (BSE), which rose by 15.20 points (+0.45%) to an LTP of 3,425.00. ICICI Bank (ICICIBANK) maintained a slight positive bias, trading at an LTP of 1,427.00 with a value increase of 3.80 points (+0.27%). 

Conversely, notable selling pressure was observed among the top losers. SBI Life Insurance (SBILIFE) dropped the sharpest in percentage terms, falling by 43.00 points (-2.42%) to an LTP of 1,732.00.  

Jio Financial Services (JIOFIN) also faced corrections, shedding 4.11 points (-1.72%) to reach an LTP of 235.39.  

Max Financial Services (MFSL) lost value, decreasing by 19.30 points (-1.25%) to trade at an LTP of 1,529.10, while public sector banking giant State Bank of India (SBIN) slid by 12.50 points (-1.23%) to cross an LTP of 1,003.60.

Conclusion 

On Monday, September 7, 2026, the NSE Nifty Financial Services traded with notable losses of 0.45% by afternoon. Despite minor holding attempts above its low of 25,910.50, the market sentiment remained weak, heavily weighted down by insurance and large banking components like SBI Life, Jio Financial, and State Bank of India.
