NIFTY 50 Index Climbs Above 22,500 Mark in Intraday Trade on October 5, 2026

The NIFTY 50 Index opened the October 5, 2026, session with a positive outlook at 22,532.40 and registered an intraday low of 22,460.80 soon after opening. The index later touched an intraday high of 22,621.80.

The NIFTY 50 index opened above its previous close at the 22,532.40 level and hit an intraday low of 22,460.80. 

As the session progressed, sustained buying interest emerged, lifting the index by over 190 points from its previous close to touch a high of 22,621.80. 

At 11:01 AM, the index was trading at 22,502.10, up by 80.15 points or 0.36% on October 5, 2026. 

Advance Decline Ratio of NIFTY 50 Index on October 5, 2026 

The market breadth of NIFTY 50 remained positive during the morning session on October 5, 2026, with 30 stocks advancing and 20 stocks declining. 

Broad-based buying was observed across index heavyweights, leaving the vast majority of index constituents in the green. 

Top Gainers and Losers of NIFTY 50 Index on October 5, 2026 

The market index recorded widespread gains across its constituents during the session as of 11:01 AM. 

Among the gainers, Bajaj Finance (BAJFINANCE) led the advance with a Last Traded Price (LTP) of 982.80, gaining 34.50 points (+3.64%). 

It was followed by Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV), which rose by 8.30 points (+2.97%) to an LTP of 287.70. 

ITC (ITC) also traded firm at an LTP of 261.95 with a value increase of 6.05 points (+2.36%),while Shriram Finance (SHRIRAMFIN) rounded out the top gainers at an LTP of 965.20, adding 20.20 points (+2.14%). 

Conversely, heavy selling pressure was observed among the top losers, HCL Technologies (HCLTECH) dropped the sharpest in percentage terms, falling by 34.60 points (-2.78%) to an LTP of 1,208.50. 

Asian Paints (ASIANPAINT) also faced notable corrections, shedding 53.10 points (-2.21%) to reach an LTP of 2,353.90. 

Infosys (INFY) lost value, decreasing by 18.50 points (-1.79%) to trade at an LTP of 1,016.50, while HDFC Bank (HDFCBANK) slid close behind, dropping by 12.10 points (-1.68%) to cross an LTP of 709.10.

Conclusion
