MoEVing, the electric mobility company, will lease 700 electric small commercial vehicles (e-SCVs) from dealers of Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, as per the news reports. The vehicles will be used for last-mile delivery operations across major cities in India.
The vehicles will be rolled out in more than 10 cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. They will be used for deliveries in e-commerce, logistics, and FMCG sectors, where short-distance movement of goods is frequent.
The leasing will be carried out through Tata Motors’ dealer network, which includes Pascos, Johar Motors, and Bhandari Automobiles. The fleet will consist of Tata Ace EV and Ace Pro EV models, which are designed for small-scale cargo and urban transportation.
MoEVing’s operations are based on a leasing model, where the company manages and maintains electric vehicles that are used by businesses for delivery. This model allows faster deployment of vehicles and reduces the need for buyers to purchase them outright.
The partnership involves coordination between MoEVing and Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle dealers to supply and maintain the fleet. It forms part of Tata Motors’ plans to expand the presence of electric commercial vehicles in local transport and delivery networks.
The vehicles will be deployed for short-distance goods movement within city limits. MoEVing currently works with various logistics and delivery partners to run electric fleets in multiple urban areas.
