Midcap Market Movers: Suzlon, Deepak Nitrite, Glenmark Trade in Red on Aug 18

The Nifty Midcap 150 index saw weakness in Monday’s trade, with several key stocks dragging the index lower. As of 11:00 am on August 11, Suzlon Energy was the biggest loser, dropping 2.05% to ₹58.83.

Deepak Nitrite also witnessed a sharp fall of 2.03%, trading at ₹1,819.00. Glenmark slipped 1.46% to ₹2,014.70, while GlaxoSmithKline declined 1.42% to ₹2,730.20. Among other notable names, Kalyan Jewellers shed 1.31% to ₹526.50.

Suzlon and Deepak Nitrite: Q1 FY26 Financial Performance

Despite the stock price declines, Suzlon Energy’s financial performance in FY25 was strong. The company’s revenue jumped 66.78%, reaching ₹10,889.74 crore compared to ₹6,529.09 crore in FY24.

Net profit also surged by a massive 213.73%, climbing from ₹660.35 crore in FY24 to ₹2,071.63 crore in FY25, signaling robust operational growth.

Deepak Nitrite, on the other hand, reported a mixed set of numbers. Its revenue rose by 7.81%, reaching ₹8,281.93 crore in FY25 versus ₹7,681.83 crore in FY24.

However, profitability came under pressure, with net profit dropping 14.00% from ₹810.86 crore in FY24 to ₹697.37 crore in FY25, reflecting margin challenges despite topline growth.

The decline in midcap stocks came amid broader market volatility, even as benchmark indices traded firm. As per news reports sector specific pressures, profit booking, and mixed investor sentiment contributed to the weakness in midcap counters.
