
Maya Tata is set to lead the e-commerce marketing efforts for Westside, a Trent fashion retail chain, as the company looks to bolster its digital presence and expand internationally, as per The Economic Times news report.
With Tata Digital experience, she brings a wealth of digital commerce expertise to the role.
As per the report, on July 6, 2026, Maya Tata, daughter of Noel Tata, stepped up to spearhead the digital growth at Westside. With prior roles at Tata Digital and Tata Capital, her appointment is intended to drive Westside's e-commerce expansion.
Formerly involved in Tata Digital's operations, Maya, aged 37, left her role to focus on accelerating Westside’s online footprint.
Her father, Noel Tata, currently the chairman of Trent, was a guiding figure in her transition to this role, with his retirement from Trent scheduled for November 2026.
As Maya assumes this influential position, her brother, Neville Tata, continues to lead Trent's Star Bazaar hypermarket division.
Westside, accounting for 40% of Trent’s revenues, is aggressively expanding its international reach, with recent ventures into the UAE marking a pivotal step.
Its plan involves increasing digital marketing efforts to establish a robust global presence. The retailer is on track to significantly boost its domestic and international store count.
Trent is focusing on expanding Westside's omnichannel strategy by opening approximately 50 new stores annually. This is a marked rise compared to previous years.
In fiscal year 2026, Westside opened 52 stores, reflecting the retailer's commitment to amplifying its brick-and-mortar and digital blend.

Trent concluded fiscal year 2026 with revenue near ₹19,700 crore and expanded its retail network to 1,286 stores over 17.7 million square feet across 321 cities.
This expansion aligns with Trent’s ambition of fostering Indian brands with a global appeal, reflecting in its accelerated growth strategy across various regions.
