Juniper Green Energy has signed a power purchase agreement with Tata Power Company for the development of a 70-megawatt firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project in Maharashtra. As per the news reports, the agreement was executed through Juniper Green Sigma Eight Private Limited, a subsidiary of Juniper Green Energy.

About the Project

The project will include a renewable energy capacity of about 180 megawatt-peak (MWp) along with a battery energy storage system (BESS) of 280 megawatt-hours (MWh). The company has not disclosed the financial value of the project.

An FDRE project combines solar, wind, and battery storage systems to deliver power in a firm and scheduled manner. This model allows electricity to be dispatched during peak demand hours and helps maintain grid stability.

According to the agreement, the supply of power from the project will begin on September 22, 2027. The electricity generated will be delivered to Tata Power under the terms of the power purchase agreement.
