JSW Motors has taken a significant step in its automotive expansion strategy by entering into a technology collaboration with a global software company.
The move is aimed at building a digitally integrated ecosystem to accelerate the development of its upcoming new energy vehicle portfolio.
The company has partnered with Dassault Systèmes to implement its 3DExperience platform, which will serve as the central digital system connecting design, engineering and manufacturing functions. This unified platform enables real-time data exchange, allowing faster product development cycles and improved coordination across teams.
As part of the deployment, JSW Motors will utilise key software tools including CATIA for 3D design, ENOVIA for managing product data and collaboration, and DELMIA for monitoring and optimising factory operations. These solutions are expected to enhance production efficiency, minimise waste and contribute to lower carbon emissions.
The platform will also support a modular vehicle architecture, enabling the company to build multiple vehicle models using shared components. This approach is expected to reduce both development costs and time required to bring products to market.
A notable aspect of the collaboration is the use of virtual twin technology, which allows the creation of digital replicas of vehicles and manufacturing processes. This enables simulation and testing in a virtual environment before actual production begins, improving accuracy and reducing risks during development.
The partnership aligns with JSW Group’s broader multi-billion dollar push into the automotive sector. The group is simultaneously expanding its presence through its joint venture JSW MG Motor India, which is increasing capacity at its Halol facility and preparing for multiple vehicle launches in 2026, including electric vehicles.
At the same time, JSW Motors is being positioned as a standalone automotive brand. The company has also secured a technology licensing agreement with China-based Chery Holding Group, enabling access to advanced vehicle platforms without any equity dilution.
JSW Motors is expected to launch its first offering, a plug-in hybrid SUV, during the Diwali 2026 period.
