JSW MG Motor India has recorded strong growth in its electric vehicle segment, reflecting increasing adoption of EVs across the country. The performance highlights rising demand beyond traditional urban markets.

EV Sales Growth and Monthly Performance

As per PTI report, the company reported total electric vehicle sales of 62,591 units in FY26, marking a 66% increase compared to 37,730 units in FY25. This sharp rise indicates sustained momentum in EV adoption during the year.

In March alone, the company sold 6,528 electric vehicles, registering a 19% year-on-year increase. The steady monthly growth further supports the broader upward trend in EV demand.

MG Windsor Driving Momentum

A key contributor to this growth has been the MG Windsor model. The vehicle recorded a 20% year-on-year increase in sales in March, playing a central role in driving the company’s EV performance.

The company stated that the MG Windsor “continues to be India’s number one selling EV”, highlighting its strong position in the market.

Rising Demand from Non-Metro Cities

One of the notable trends in the company’s sales data is the growing contribution from non-metro markets.

Around 70% of MG Windsor sales are coming from smaller cities, indicating increasing acceptance of electric vehicles beyond major urban centres.

This shift suggests a broader change in consumer behaviour, with buyers in non-metro regions increasingly opting for electric mobility solutions.
