JSW Group and Tomcar USA Forge Partnership to Build Tactical ATVs in India for Armed Forces

JSW Sarbloh Motors, a subsidiary of JSW Defence Private Limited and part of the JSW Group, has formed a joint venture with US-based Tomcar USA. The collaboration will focus on the local production of the Tomcar TX range of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) in India.
As per news reports, under the agreement, JSW Sarbloh will indigenise, manufacture, assemble, and provide support for the TX series at its facility in Chandigarh. The first India-assembled units are expected to be ready by early 2026. Field trials and demonstrations are scheduled in the coming months for defence and paramilitary agencies.
Intended Use of TX ATVs
The TX ATVs are being positioned for multiple security and industrial applications. Core customers include the Indian Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The vehicles are designed to support tasks such as border patrol, counter-insurgency operations, and logistics in difficult terrains.
State police units and industrial sectors like mining, timber, and search-and-rescue operations are also expected to use the platform.
Indigenisation Effort
The project is part of a push to increase indigenous defence production. By manufacturing and assembling the ATVs locally, the venture aims to reduce reliance on imports and support job creation. The Chandigarh facility will handle production, assembly, and after-sales service.
As per news reports, Parth Jindal of the JSW Group stated, "We are delighted to announce this strategic joint venture between JSW Sarbloh Motors and Tomcar USA, which marks a significant milestone in our commitment to enhance India's defence capabilities. The TX platform is designed to meet the rigorous demands of our armed forces and security agencies, whilst ensuring superior durability, flexibility, and safety.”

Tomcar’s Entry into India
For Tomcar USA, the partnership is its entry into the Indian market and expansion into right-hand-drive regions. The company has previously supplied mission-grade vehicles to military and industrial clients worldwide. Its experience in building durable off-road mobility platforms will be combined with JSW’s manufacturing base in India.
As per news reports, Ram Zarchi, Founder & Principal of Tomcar USA, stated, "We are honoured to announce our strategic joint venture with the JSW Group, marking a pivotal milestone in Tomcar’s entry into India. This partnership will allow us to deliver our proven platforms to the Indian Armed Forces, combining Tomcar’s decades of mission-grade engineering with JSW’s advanced manufacturing expertise and first-class leadership.”
Conclusion
The joint venture sets the stage for the introduction of tactical ATVs manufactured in India. With production slated for 2026 and trials beginning soon, the project is expected to provide mobility solutions for defence, paramilitary, and industrial use.
