JioStar has strengthened its digital leadership team with a senior hire aimed at accelerating data-led advertising and streaming monetisation.
JioStar has named Bhaskar Ramesh as Head of Entertainment Sales, Digital. He will report to Kevin Vaz, CEO, Entertainment, and will oversee the development of a unified commercial framework integrating content, technology and sales.
The role includes deepening advertiser partnerships and driving measurable brand outcomes through data-backed strategies.
As per news reports, Kevin Vaz said the future of streaming will rely as much on “smart monetization” as on engaging content, adding that the company sought a leader who understands how “data, technology and creativity” combine to deliver outcomes.
Ramesh joins from Google, where he served as Director – Omnichannel Businesses and was part of the India leadership team. He led strategic partnerships across sectors including Technology, Retail, Finance, CPG and Automotive, while driving digital transformation across traditional and digital channels.
During his tenure, he played a key role in scaling YouTube India into a multi-billion-dollar monetisation business and worked across planning, pricing and measurement. He has also advised large Indian brands on digital growth and represented India at global strategy forums.
Before joining Google, Ramesh held senior positions at Godrej, Marico and Reliance Broadcast Network, gaining experience in brand building, P&L management, operations and business development across CPG and Media & Entertainment.
He holds a post-graduate diploma in Management from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research.
