The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) on October 28, 2025, in New Delhi to strengthen cooperation in education, research, and training.
The collaboration seeks to leverage the institutions’ respective expertise in social housing, municipal finance, and sustainable urban development.
The partnership will focus on certificate courses, applied research, consultancy projects, and training programmes targeting professionals in the public and private sectors. Proposed initiatives include short-duration and long-term certificate courses on urban management, governance, municipal finance, contract management, and infrastructure development.
HUDCO’s training arm, the Human Settlement Management Institute (HSMI), will coordinate with IIM Calcutta to design and deliver these programmes. The collaboration also envisions joint conferences, workshops, and the exchange of experts to promote best practices in urban policy and project execution.
The non-binding MoU allows both parties to enter into separate operational agreements for specific projects. It will remain in effect for three years, subject to annual review, and may be extended by mutual consent. Each party retains the right to terminate the agreement with six months’ written notice.
