Govt Approves 7 Projects Worth ₹5,500 Crore Under Electronics Components Scheme

The Government of India has cleared the first set of seven projects under the Electronics Manufacturing Component Scheme (ECMS) with a total investment of ₹5,532 crore. These projects are expected to generate production worth ₹36,559 crore and create over 5,100 direct jobs. The approved units are located across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

Details of Approved Projects

Kaynes Circuits India Pvt Ltd received approval for four projects in Tamil Nadu with a total investment of ₹3,280 crore. The projects include multi-layer printed circuit boards (₹104 crore), camera module sub-assembly (₹325 crore), HDI PCBs (₹1,684 crore), and laminates (₹1,167 crore). Together, they are projected to produce goods worth ₹30,305 crore and employ around 2,480 people.

SRF Limited has been approved for a ₹496 crore investment in polypropylene film manufacturing in Madhya Pradesh, with an estimated production value of ₹1,311 crore and 225 new jobs. Syrma Strategic Electronics Pvt Ltd will invest ₹765 crore in Andhra Pradesh for a multi-layer PCB facility expected to produce goods worth ₹6,933 crore and generate 955 jobs.

Ascent Circuits Pvt Ltd, part of Amber Group, has been approved for a ₹991 crore project in Tamil Nadu to produce multi-layer PCBs worth ₹7,847 crore. The unit is expected to create about 1,535 jobs.

Domestic Manufacturing and Export Plans

According to official data, these projects will help meet 100% of India’s demand for copper-clad laminates, 20% of printed circuit boards, and 15% of camera modules. Around 60% of the total production from these plants is expected to be exported.

Broader Scheme Overview

The ECMS received 249 applications with proposed investments of ₹1.15 lakh crore. These proposals represent a potential production value of ₹10.34 lakh crore and the creation of 1.42 lakh jobs. The first phase of the scheme closed on September 30, 2025, while the window for capital equipment applications remains open.

Total investment: ₹5,532 crore
Total projected production: ₹44,406 crore
Total employment generated: 5,195 persons
