Goldman Sachs has opened a new office in Worli, Mumbai, as per news reports. The space is spread over 6,500 square meters, making it about 50% larger than its previous Mumbai office. The facility occupies the entire tenth floor and half of the ninth floor in the Ascent Worli building.
As per reports, the office includes meeting rooms equipped with Zoom technology, open workstations, collaborative spaces, and a café with a buffet. The design is consistent with layouts used across other Goldman Sachs offices globally.
The new office was inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The development involved an investment of around ₹300 crore, which is approximately $36 million.
Goldman Sachs has operated in India since the 1980s and set up a wholly owned onshore operation in 2006. The firm employs more than 8,500 people across its Indian offices, making it one of its largest employee bases outside the United States.
Apart from Mumbai, the company has offices in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. These locations focus on functions such as research, finance, engineering, and technology. A new Hyderabad office was opened last year, adding further capacity in the region.
