Godrej Enterprises Group is preparing to launch a unified artificial intelligence platform named Amethyst as part of its large-scale digital transformation programme, according to ET report.
The group plans to integrate AI capabilities across its brand strategy and product portfolio, beginning with washing machines. The company expects the initiative to deliver a productivity improvement of at least 10–15% for every employee using the AI engine.
Executive director Nyrika Holkar told ET the objective of Amethyst is to enhance human potential rather than replace jobs. According to her, AI is changing the nature of work, allowing engineers and plant teams to spend less time on routine manual checks and more on optimisation, design and innovation. Roles within the organisation are evolving with technology support, leading to smarter and faster decision-making.
Last year the group announced an investment of ₹1,200 crore over three to five years to accelerate digital capabilities. Holkar described this as a move towards becoming an intelligence-first enterprise that blends human judgement with machine intelligence while maintaining trust and ethics.
The company aims to reclaim thousands of productive hours and embed agentic AI directly into products, operations and customer experiences in the coming years.
Over the past year, Godrej has developed multiple AI use cases at both the front end and back end of operations. These solutions will be gradually implemented across all 14 businesses of the group. “Employees can access institutional knowledge, automate workflows and accelerate decision-making through a single Amethyst experience,” Holkar said.
The group employs around 15,000 people and is investing heavily in building AI fluency across all levels, from leadership to the shop floor. AI training has been made mandatory, with course structure and hours tailored to specific roles.
On the product side, intelligence will be embedded into appliances and engineering solutions, with refrigerators and air conditioners next in line after washing machines.

Through Amethyst, Godrej Enterprises aims to create a connected and intelligent ecosystem that enhances efficiency and customer experience. The structured investment and organisation-wide training highlight the group’s commitment to responsible AI adoption, positioning it for long-term competitiveness in a rapidly digitalising market.
