On October 17, 2025, Embraer Defence & Security and the Mahindra Group formalised a strategic cooperation agreement to introduce the C-390 Millennium transport aircraft to India. This collaboration marks a major leap towards self-reliance in defence and strengthens India-Brazil aerospace ties.
The partnership aims to position the C-390 Millennium as the ideal solution for the Indian Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft programme. Embraer and Mahindra will jointly pursue localisation through manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and supply chain integration across India’s aerospace sector.
This move supports India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat while leveraging Mahindra’s manufacturing strength and Embraer’s aerospace expertise.
Following the initial MoU signed in February 2024, the alliance now extends to joint marketing and industrialisation, with the long-term goal of establishing India as a manufacturing and support base for the aircraft. Embraer has already inaugurated its national office in New Delhi, emphasising its commitment to the Indian market and regional partnerships.
The C-390 Millennium is a next-generation military transport aircraft, capable of carrying 26 tons of payload, flying at 470 knots, and handling multiple missions—from troop and cargo transport to medical evacuation and air-to-air refuelling. It operates from unpaved or temporary runways and boasts a mission completion rate above 99%.

This collaboration strengthens bilateral ties, combining Brazil’s aerospace engineering with India’s manufacturing ecosystem. It also underlines Mahindra Group’s strategic commitment to contributing to national defence capabilities through global partnerships and local innovation.
On October 17, 2025, Mahindra & Mahindra share price opened at ₹3,561.00 on NSE, above the previous close of ₹3,560.80. During the day, it surged to ₹3,645.00 and dipped to ₹3,560.10. The stock is trading at ₹3,629.20 as of 12:56 PM. The stock registered a moderate gain of 1.92%.
