As per the PTI news report, Eicher Trucks & Buses entered into an initial agreement with app-based city bus operator Cityflo for the supply of around 2,000 buses over a 3-year period.
The partnership will focus on deployment of premium intercity and urban mobility solutions, including alternate fuel and electric buses, as demand for organised public transportation continues to rise across Indian cities.
Eicher Trucks & Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles, said nearly 500 buses are expected to be deployed during the current financial year under the agreement.
The partnership includes a multi-fuel portfolio comprising premium AC pushback buses, CNG buses, and electric buses tailored for evolving urban mobility requirements.
The company stated that the collaboration with Cityflo has been ongoing since 2024 and includes co-development of customised bus configurations based on operational requirements such as enhanced air-conditioning systems and seating layouts.
India’s urban transportation segment has been witnessing increasing investments in organised bus mobility, electric public transport, and fleet modernisation initiatives.
Rising focus on sustainable transportation and passenger comfort has encouraged fleet operators to adopt premium and alternate-fuel buses across metropolitan routes.
Cityflo stated that its fleet strategy is focused on high-frequency daily operations, operational reliability, and scalable passenger mobility solutions.
The latest agreement is expected to support Eicher’s presence in the commercial passenger vehicle and urban mobility segment.
