India's top real-money gaming platforms, including Dream11, MPL, and PokerBaazi, have suspended cash-based games in response to the Online Gaming Bill 2025. Users can still withdraw wallet funds, but no new deposits will be allowed going forward.
Following the enactment of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, popular platforms like Dream11, MPL, PokerBaazi, My11Circle, Zupee, WinZO, and Probo have paused all real-money gaming operations. The law imposes a complete ban on real-money offerings nationwide. As per CNBC-TV18, Dream11’s CEO informed staff that there is no legal pathway to continue such operations. The company will pivot to other business verticals like FanCode and DreamSetGo.
Despite halting real-money gameplay, all major platforms have publicly reassured users about the safety of their wallet balances. Dream11, MPL, and PokerBaazi confirmed that users will be able to continue withdrawing their funds seamlessly. However, new deposits have been disabled permanently on each of these platforms to comply with the law.
Companies are now shifting focus to non-monetary formats. MPL will promote free-to-play competitive games, while Zupee will continue offering titles like Ludo Supreme without cash components. Probo has ceased all money-related functions, looking to innovate in non-financial gaming experiences instead. My11Circle also announced an end to its cash contests, enabling withdrawals but disallowing further recharging of accounts.

India’s real-money gaming sector had attracted over $1.07 billion in cumulative funding till 2022. Notable investments included Dream11’s $625 million across multiple rounds and MPL’s $240 million. The bill has drastically altered the landscape, prompting strategic reevaluation by gaming startups, many of which were backed by global investors like Tiger Global and Malabar Investments.
The Online Gaming Bill 2025 has led to a sudden but organised halt in real-money offerings by top gaming firms. Users need not worry about existing balances as withdrawal processes remain operational. Meanwhile, these firms are rapidly restructuring towards free-to-play and alternative game formats to align with the new law.
