Closing Bell: Nifty IT Rises, Pharma and Healthcare Fall on October 23

On October 23, 2024, both the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 ended the day lower. The BSE Sensex closed at 80,081.98, down by 138.74 points or 0.17%. Similarly, the Nifty50 also closed lower at 24,435.50, dropping by 36.60 points or 0.15%.

Sectoral Performance

On Wednesday, Nifty IT, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Media ended in green. Nifty Pharma, Nifty Healthcare and Nifty Midsmall Healthcare ended in the red. Nifty Pharma and Nifty Healthcare dropped by more than 1%. 

Top Gainers and Losers

On Wednesday, the top gainers on the Nifty include Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra and Tata Consumer Products. In contrast, the losers were Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Eicher Motors.

Oil Prices

As of October 23, 2024, at 03:37 PM, Brent Crude was trading at $75.11, down by 1.22%.
