Closing Bell: Sensex Drops 1.15% and Nifty Slips 1.25% on October 22

On October 22, 2024, both the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 ended the day lower. The BSE Sensex closed at 80,220.72, down by 930.55 points or 1.15%. Similarly, the Nifty50 also closed lower at 24,472.10, dropping by 309.00 points or 1.25%.
Sectoral Performance
None of the sectoral indices ended in green on Tuesday. Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal ended in the red, where each index dropped by more than 2.5%.
Top Gainers and Losers
On Tuesday, the top losers on the Nifty include Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and Coal India. In contrast, the gainers were ICICI Bank, Nestle India and Infosys.
Oil Prices
As of October 22, 2024, at 03:54 PM, Brent Crude was trading at $74.90, up by 0.82%.
