Carlsberg Group on Wednesday announced the opening of its first IT Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Gurugram, as per news reports. The facility has been set up as part of the company’s plans to expand its presence in India while supporting its global digital operations.
The new GCC will handle managed IT services, infrastructure operations, and application support for Carlsberg’s worldwide network. It is expected to serve as a scalable base for the company’s technology needs across multiple markets.
To establish the centre, Carlsberg has partnered with IT services and consultancy provider GSPANN. The arrangement follows a build-operate model where Carlsberg will retain ownership of the GCC’s strategic direction, while GSPANN will manage day-to-day operations, staffing, and delivery of services.
While Gurugram will serve as the main hub, Carlsberg will also draw support from a team at GSPANN’s Hyderabad office. This team will focus on specialised skills and provide flexibility in scaling operations.

As per news reports, Carlsberg Group’s CIO Esther Wu stated, "With India's exceptional technology talent and GSPANN's support, this centre will help us strengthen our IT backbone, accelerate digital transformation, and embed new capabilities into our global operations,".
She added, "This GCC reflects our commitment to building resilience and sustainability, ensuring we are better prepared to serve our customers, partners, and employees across over 150 global markets where our products are enjoyed".
GSPANN co-founder and President, AP Grover said, "With Carlsberg, we are building a digital hub that fuses scale, speed, and sustainability, raising the bar for what global enterprises can achieve from India".
The new IT GCC marks Carlsberg’s entry into India’s capability centre space, with Gurugram and Hyderabad emerging as its primary technology bases for global operations.
