The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has announced mock trading sessions on December 6, 2025, across all major trading segments, including Equity, Equity Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives, and Currency Derivatives. These sessions aim to test trading applications under simulated market conditions.

Details of the Mock Trading Sessions

The BSE's mock trading sessions are designed to help trading members test their systems, particularly those using third-party platforms or in-house systems via IML/ETI APIs.

These sessions will simulate various market conditions, including trading halts and risk-reduction modes, to ensure readiness for any market scenario.

Participation in these sessions is crucial for regulatory compliance, as it aligns with SEBI Circular No. SEBI/HO/MRD1/DSAP/CIR/P/2020/234, dated November 24, 2020. This circular mandates software testing for trading and risk management systems.

New Platform and Features

The upcoming BOLT Pro TWS Version 12.40 will be introduced during these sessions. The mock trading will also test new features such as the Pre-Open Session and reserved strike contracts in Equity Derivatives, effective from December 8, 2025.

Additionally, the Equity segment will see a revised block deal framework and special pre-open sessions for IPOs and re-listed scrips.

Session Timings and Structure

The mock sessions will follow a structured timeline, with specific login and trading windows for each segment.

For instance, Equity Derivatives will have a login window from 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM, followed by a Pre-Open session from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM and continuous trading until 3:30 PM. Similarly, Commodity and Currency Derivatives will have continuous trading from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Conclusion

The BSE's mock trading sessions on December 6, 2025, underscore its commitment to maintaining market integrity and technological readiness. These sessions are vital for ensuring seamless implementation of upcoming regulatory and structural changes.
