Bharti Airtel Deploys Over 2,900 5G New Sites Across 4 States, Rebrands Priority Postpaid Offering as Fast Lane

Bharti Airtel has deployed more than 2,900 new 5G sites across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir over the past year, taking its network expansion across 77 districts in the Upper North region.  

The company, in an exchange filing dated June 10, 2026, said the rollout is for increasing coverage and network capacity in both urban and rural locations. 

More Than 28.6 Million Customers Covered 

The expanded network now reaches over 28.6 million customers across the 4 states and Union Territory.  

According to the company, the deployment includes more than 1,066 sites in Punjab, over 954 in Haryana, 276 in Himachal Pradesh, and 619 in Jammu & Kashmir.  

Airtel said the additions averaged more than eight new sites every day during the 12-month period. 

Rollout Targets Rising Data Usage 

The telecom operator said the additional infrastructure is expected to support increasing demand for mobile data services.  

The network is intended to improve access to 5G connectivity for users in cities, smaller towns and villages, while also supporting educational institutions, businesses, government offices, and local enterprises across the region. 

Priority Postpaid Renamed as Fast Lane 

As per news reports, in a separate customer-facing change, Airtel has rebranded its Priority Postpaid programme as Fast Lane.  

The company has positioned the new name as part of its premium postpaid service offering. No changes to tariff plans or pricing were announced along with the rebranding.

Bharti Airtel Share Price Performance  

As of June 11, 2026, 10:59 am, Bharti Airtel Ltd share price was trading at ₹1,788.90, up 0.77% from the previous closing price.
