Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has received a ₹633 crore order from Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), marking a significant boost to its naval systems portfolio. The order excludes taxes and strengthens BEL’s role as a key supplier of advanced defence electronics to India’s shipbuilding industry.
According to the company’s official filing with stock exchanges, the order covers the supply of items required for sensors, weapon systems, fire control systems, and communication equipment developed and manufactured by BEL. The project will enhance the combat capabilities of upcoming naval platforms being built by Cochin Shipyard.
BEL stated that the contract reflects continued confidence in its indigenous design, development, and production capabilities under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. As one of India’s leading defence electronics manufacturers, BEL continues to play a vital role in equipping the armed forces with advanced technologies.
