Public sector enterprise BEML Ltd has entered into a strategic collaboration with Dredging Corporation of India Ltd (DCIL) to strengthen domestic dredging infrastructure.
The agreements, valued at ₹350 crore, aim to boost India’s self-reliance in manufacturing specialised marine equipment and reduce import dependency in the dredging sector.
Key Development
Under the MoUs, BEML will design and manufacture 5 inland cutter suction dredgers of varying capacities and supply cable dredgers, long-reach excavators, and other custom dredging solutions for dam, reservoir, and lake projects.
The firm will also provide indigenously developed spare parts for DCIL’s fleet, ensuring timely maintenance and operational efficiency.
