State-run BEML Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kineco Limited to work together on advanced composite manufacturing for use in aerospace and defence.
As per the exchange filings, the agreement was signed in New Delhi in the presence of BEML CMD Shantanu Roy, Kineco CMD Shekhar Sardessai, and senior officials from both organisations.
Under the MoU, both companies will collaborate on the development and production of carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) structures, glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) panels, honeycomb cores, foams, and bonding materials for metallic parts. These materials are used in aerospace and defence systems that require strength, low weight, and durability.
Composite materials such as CFRP and GFRP are increasingly used in aircraft, defence vehicles, and other equipment. They help reduce weight while maintaining structural integrity and are valued for their resistance to heat and corrosion. The agreement aims to strengthen the domestic base for such materials, which are largely imported at present.
BEML Limited, which operates under the Ministry of Defence, is involved in manufacturing across three sectors: construction and mining, rail and metro, and defence and aerospace. The company produces a range of equipment and systems for these industries. Kineco Limited, based in Goa, manufactures composite products and components for sectors such as railways, aerospace, and industrial applications.
The collaboration will enable joint development of materials and components for defence and aerospace projects and contribute to the country’s plans to expand local production in specialised technologies.
As of October 17, 2025, 10:09 AM, BEML share price was trading at ₹4,483.00, a 1.29% increase from the previous closing price.
