As of 11:15 AM on September 8, 2025, the Bank Nifty index was trading 0.22% higher at 54,187.35. The index opened the session at 54,215.40, touched an intraday high of 54,329.20, and dipped to a low of 54,067.15.

The 52-week range for the Nifty Bank index spans from a low of 47,702.90 to a high of 57,628.40. 

The index showcased positive momentum, with 9 out of the 12 constituent stocks trading in the green, while 3 were in the red at the time of reporting.

Banking stocks witnessed positive momentum, with several key players emerging as top gainers in the Bank Nifty index. CANBK saw a healthy uptick, closing at ₹108.15 compared to its previous close of ₹107.14. AUBANK also gained ground, reaching ₹700.40, while Bank of Baroda moved to ₹236.01.

PNB and SBIN too posted gains, closing at ₹104.44 and ₹809.60 respectively. Overall, the Bank Nifty index held steady, finishing at 54,187.35, reflecting resilience in the banking sector.

Performance of Sensex and Nifty 50

Indian benchmark indices started the week on a strong note, buoyed by firm global cues and encouraging comments from US President Donald Trump regarding India. In early trade on Monday, the Sensex surged 296.26 points, reaching 81,007.02, while the Nifty climbed 90.35 points to hit 24,831.35.
