As per Economic Times report, Bajaj Auto is gearing up to increase the presence of its electric rickshaw model, Riki, to 200 cities by the end of Q1FY26. Launched earlier this year, Riki is currently under pilot testing in select cities and is positioned as a safer and more eco-friendly option in the last-mile mobility space.

Riki to See Rapid Expansion from 8 to 200 Cities

As per PTI, currently, Bajaj Auto has introduced Riki in 8 cities after starting with 4 locations during its initial launch phase. The cities include Patna, Moradabad, Guwahati, and Raipur. The ongoing Phase I is focused on collecting feedback from customers and shaping the product’s promotional strategy.

According to the company, the full-scale expansion is set for the January to March 2026 period. The company aims to make Riki available in 200 cities and towns, especially across states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Assam.

Product Features and Specifications

Riki is powered by a lithium-ion battery and boasts a monocoque body structure, enhancing both safety and durability. It offers a travel range of 140 kilometres on a single charge and supports fast charging with a full recharge time of 4.5 hours. The vehicle comes with a 3-year battery warranty, offering extended assurance to its users.

Priced at ₹1.9 lakh, Riki provides an advanced alternative to conventional e-rickshaws that largely rely on lead-acid batteries and are often produced by unorganised players in the market. Bajaj aims to establish Riki as a benchmark for quality and safety in the electric mobility segment.
