At its third Community Day event, electric two wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy unveiled a completely new EL platform the company’s first fresh vehicle architecture since the launch of the Ather 450.

Co-founder and CEO Tarun Mehta said scooters built on the EL platform will likely hit the market within the next year.

AtherStack 7.0: Smarter, Safer, More Connected

Alongside the new chassis and powertrain, Ather introduced AtherStack 7.0, its latest software stack. The update brings voice enabled interaction, powered by a large language model trained for Ather’s specific use cases and fine tuned for Indian dialects.

New features include:

  • Crash and pothole alerts
  • Theft prevention tools
  • Remote control functions

The update will be delivered over the air (OTA) in the coming months and will also extend to existing scooters such as the Rizta Z and Ather 450X (up to Gen 3).

Rizta and Concept Showcase

The Rizta scooter has received upgrades, including:

  • A touchscreen dashboard
  • A new riding mode
  • Fresh colour options

Some of these features will also be rolled out to current owners via OTA updates.

In addition, Ather showcased Redux, a concept moto-scooter built using experimental design elements like aluminium frames and 3D-printed seats. While not intended for immediate commercialisation, Redux highlights Ather’s long term product vision.

Competitive Landscape

The announcement comes as India’s electric two wheeler market heats up, with both established players and startups accelerating product launches ahead of the festive season. Ather’s strategy of pairing hardware innovation with software intelligence underscores its intent to maintain a strong position in the fast evolving EV segment.
