Anthony Waste Handling Cell Limited is in focus on August 13, 2025, as the stock has rallied. The rally followed the announcement that its material subsidiary, Antony Lara Enviro Solutions Private Limited, has been awarded 2 major Waste-to-Energy (WTE) projects in Andhra Pradesh with a combined contract value of around ₹3,200 crore.
Antony Lara Enviro Solutions Private Limited, a material subsidiary of Anthony Waste Handling Cell, has won two contracts for developing Waste-to-Energy plants of approximately 15 MW capacity each at the Kadapa and Kurnool clusters. The projects have been awarded by the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (NREDCAP), a government undertaking.
Each facility will incorporate a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) to process mixed municipal solid waste before converting it into energy. The process includes automated sorting to recover recyclables, extracting organic waste for treatment, and using the remaining non-recyclable waste as feedstock for high-efficiency incineration units.
Construction of each project is expected to take about 24 months from the date of concession agreement signing, Power Purchase Agreement execution, or land transfer, whichever is later. The concession period is set at 20 years, during which the power generated will be sold to the Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited at a rate of ₹8.10 per unit.
The projects are expected to divert significant volumes of waste from landfills daily, reduce methane and CO₂ emissions, and contribute to India’s renewable energy capacity targets under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Upon completion, these plants will expand Anthony Waste’s renewable energy portfolio to around 44 MW.
This development also marks the company’s entry into Southern India, broadening its geographical reach and reinforcing its expertise in sustainable waste management.
Anthony Waste Handling Cell Limited is a pioneer in India’s municipal solid waste management sector, with operations in over 23 municipal corporations nationwide.
Its portfolio spans collection, transportation, landfill operations, and Waste-to-Energy projects. The company operates Asia’s largest single-location waste processing facility in Mumbai and Maharashtra’s first WTE plant under the Green Energy Open Access Rules.
As of 9:47 AM on August 13, 2025, Anthony Waste Handling Cell share price is trading at ₹613.20, a 5.92% increase.
The announcement of these large-scale Waste-to-Energy projects has drawn notable market attention to Anthony Waste Handling Cell. The development underscores the company’s growing presence in India’s renewable energy and waste management sectors.
