Amazon has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Andhra Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation to support small businesses in Andhra Pradesh through e-commerce exports, as per news reports.

The agreement covers micro, small, and medium enterprises, along with entrepreneurs, weavers, artisans, and producers from different parts of the state. The initiative will be implemented through Amazon Global Selling.

Training and On-Ground Support

Under the arrangement, Amazon will conduct knowledge-sharing sessions for businesses interested in selling products in overseas markets through online platforms.

The sessions will include information on export readiness, international marketplaces, compliance requirements, logistics, and scaling of operations. The programme will also provide local support for businesses beginning their e-commerce export activities.

According to the companies, this is for helping businesses understand the operational aspects involved in cross-border online trade.

Plan to Reach 50,000 Businesses

Amazon, APMSMEDC and the India SME Forum said they plan to support more than 50,000 businesses across Andhra Pradesh through structured export-related programmes.

The collaboration will include seller outreach activities, training programmes and ecosystem support linked to e-commerce exports. The partners will also work on export-related policy support and roadmap development for the state.

Vinod Kumar, President of the India SME Forum, said the initiative could improve access to global trade channels for MSMEs through e-commerce platforms.

Focus on E-Commerce Exports

Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling, India, said the partnership is focused on awareness and exporter enablement programmes for businesses in Andhra Pradesh.

Amazon said this forms part of its target of enabling $80 billion in cumulative exports from India by 2030.

The agreement comes at a time when state agencies and digital commerce platforms are increasing plans to expand export opportunities for smaller businesses and local producers through online marketplaces.
