Align Technology will set up a manufacturing facility in Telangana with an investment of ₹1,800 crore, according to a statement released on Thursday.

The proposed unit will come up in Hyderabad and is expected to start operations in 2027.

The facility will be the company’s first manufacturing site in India and the fourth globally. Align Technology said the project is to create over 300 direct jobs over the next several years.

MoU Signed for Proposed Facility

A memorandum of understanding for the project was signed between Jitse Marree, Senior Vice President at Align Technology, and Sarvesh Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Telangana Life Sciences.

The company already operates a Global Capability Centre and the Align Innovation Centre in Hyderabad. The proposed manufacturing unit is to expand its existing operations in the city.

Manufacturing and Production Plans

According to the company, the Hyderabad facility will support its global clear aligner manufacturing operations. Align Technology stated that its current global production network manufactures nearly 10 lakh unique clear aligner parts per day.

The proposed unit is to use large-scale 3D printing systems, automated manufacturing processes, and digital production technologies. The company said the facility may also function as an operational support hub within its global manufacturing network.

Telangana’s Healthcare Manufacturing Sector

The Telangana government said the investment adds to the state’s growing presence in medical technology, life sciences, and precision manufacturing. Hyderabad has attracted investments across healthcare technology and engineering-led manufacturing sectors in recent years.

Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, Industries and Commerce, said the project shows growing international interest in Telangana’s manufacturing and healthcare sectors.
