As per the news reports, Gateway and cargo handling services provider Air India SATS Airport Services (AISATS) announced a partnership with Chennai-based cargo airline Afcom for freighter operations at the upcoming Noida International Airport.

The agreement, reached through AISATS’ wholly-owned special purpose vehicle AISATS Noida Cargo Terminal Private Limited (ANCTPL), is expected to transform Noida International Airport into a major cargo hub alongside Delhi and Mumbai, reinforcing India’s global trade ambitions.

Strategic Leap in India’s Cargo Ecosystem

The partnership brings together AISATS’ strong infrastructure capabilities and Afcom’s expanding international freighter network.

As per the news reports, Ramanathan Rajamani, CEO of AISATS, emphasised, “This memorandum of understanding with Afcom Holdings is fundamentally reshaping how North India connects with global trade. With Noida International Airport's strategic location and sophisticated infrastructure, our Integrated cargo terminal will become a central link within global supply chains.”

Cargo Hub and Operational Benefits

The collaboration will focus on handling electronics, perishables, auto components, and temperature-sensitive goods. The project includes an 87-acre multi-modal cargo hub with a 30-acre Integrated Cargo Terminal capable of handling 250,000 MT annually, complemented by a 57-acre warehousing and logistics zone.

These facilities are designed to enhance competitiveness for Indian exporters and attract foreign investment into the logistics and manufacturing sectors.
