The primary market activity remains muted in the mainboard segment for the week starting April 13, with no large IPOs scheduled. However, investor interest will likely shift toward the SME space and infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs), where 2 new public issues (Mehul Telecom and Citius TransNet InvIT) are set to open. Additionally, 3 SME listings are lined up, keeping the IPO market moderately active.
Mehul Telecom, a multi-brand mobile retail chain, aims to raise ₹27.73 crore through a fresh issue of 28,29,600 shares. The IPO comes with a price band of ₹96–₹98 per share, and investors must apply for a minimum of two lots, translating to 2,400 shares.
The company plans to utilise the proceeds primarily for working capital needs, along with general corporate purposes. Mehul Telecom operates under a hybrid COCO (company-owned, company-operated) and FOFO (franchisee-owned, franchisee-operated) model, offering smartphones and accessories from leading brands.
Citius TransNet Investment Trust is set to launch a ₹1,340 crore IPO on April 17, closing on April 21. While the price band is yet to be announced, the issue comprises entirely a fresh issuance.
The InvIT focuses on acquiring and managing transport infrastructure assets, particularly roads. Its initial portfolio spans 3,406.71 lane kilometres, including seven toll and three annuity assets across nine states. The proceeds will be used for acquiring stakes in select infrastructure projects and for general purposes.
The allotment is expected on April 22, with listing scheduled on April 24 on both NSE and BSE.
On the listings front, Safety Controls & Devices and Emiac Technologies will debut on the BSE SME platform on April 13. Meanwhile, Om Power Transmission is scheduled to list on April 17 on both NSE and BSE.
While the absence of mainboard IPOs may seem dull, the SME and InvIT segments continue to offer selective opportunities. Investors should evaluate fundamentals carefully, especially in smaller issues where liquidity and risk factors tend to be higher.
