Understanding the RIL Shareholders
Share

The upcoming IPO of Jio Platforms includes a reserved portion for existing shareholders of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). Eligible individuals and Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) can participate, provided they meet specific criteria outlined in the Red Herring Prospectus.

Eligibility Criteria for RIL Shareholders

To apply for the reserved shares, individuals and HUFs must be public equity shareholders of RIL as of the date the Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) is filed.

The reservation excludes those legally barred from investing. The minimum and maximum bid amounts are set, with the maximum capped at ₹2,00,000 per eligible shareholder.

Bid Limits and Multiple Bidding Rules

The minimum application size will be specified in multiples of a certain number of equity shares with a face value of ₹10 each.

Eligible shareholders can place multiple bids across different categories without disqualification. They may apply under the RIL Shareholders

Reservation Portion and simultaneously bid in the Net Issue or Employee Portion if applicable.

Allotment Methodology

Allotment is based on a proportionate system, subject to availability and minimum bid lot requirements. Unsubscribed shares from the Employee Reservation Portion may be added to the RIL Shareholders Reservation.

If shares remain unsubscribed, they will be transferred to the Net Issue, divided between the Retail and Non-Institutional Portions.

Application Process and Payment

Applications must be submitted via the ASBA process, including the UPI Mechanism. The full bid amount will be blocked in the applicant's bank account, with no immediate cash outflow until allotment is finalised. Allotments will be executed in dematerialised form.
