Advent International LP-backed Svatantra Microfin Pvt. Ltd. has begun preliminary discussions with bankers and legal advisors, marking the early stages of a potential initial public offering (IPO) that could raise up to $250 million, according to media reports.

Svatantra Microfin is expected to file its draft prospectus in the coming months. The IPO will likely include a combination of fresh equity issuance and an offer for sale by existing shareholders.

Discussions are still underway, and key details, including the final size of the offering, remain subject to change.
