The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is set to announce its IPO price band on September 11, 2026, as per the CNBC-TV18 news report.

The proposed offer size has reduced to approximately ₹23,000 crore due to changes in the offer for sale (OFS) plans by some shareholders.

NSE IPO Price Band Announcement

As per news report, the much-anticipated NSE IPO price band will be officially announced on September 11, 2026. This follows the exchange's filing of an updated draft red herring prospectus (UDRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

The IPO size is now expected to be around ₹23,000 crore, down from the previously proposed ₹30,000 crore when the initial draft was filed.

Reductions in Shareholders' Offer for Sale

The downsizing of the IPO comes as some shareholders, including public-sector insurance companies and Morgan Stanley, have opted to sell fewer shares than originally announced.

The original DRHP suggested an OFS of 14.89 crore shares, which equated to a 6% stake in the exchange.

Potential Valuation Adjustments

The NSE shares are anticipated to be priced between ₹1,700 and ₹1,785 apiece. This is below the earlier indicated range of ₹2,000 to ₹2,100.

As per news reports, the proposed stake sold via the IPO might reduce from 6% to about 5.5%, potentially placing NSE's valuation at ₹4.42 lakh crore, down from a prior estimate of ₹5.26 lakh crore.

Changes in Stake Sales

Several shareholders have revised their decisions on the number of shares to be sold. Among them, GIC and New India Assurance had initially planned to offer more shares for sale.

Conclusion

The NSE's IPO, set to have a price band announced on September 11, 2026, has seen its proposed offer size reduced to ₹23,000 crore. This change follows revised sale plans from significant shareholders, reflecting a scaled-back intent of divestment by existing stakeholders.
