NSE IPO: Exchange Secures No Objection Certificate from SEBI for Listing

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has received NOC or no objection certificate from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for its proposed Initial Public Offering (IPO), as per the NDTV Profit report.
NSE CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan confirmed the development at FICCI’s Annual Capital Markets Conference 2026. He said the exchange had received the go-ahead from the market regulator, which he referred to as the NOC received earlier this year.
Draft Papers Filed in June 2026
As per the report, NSE submitted its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) to SEBI on June 17, 2026. The exchange is now preparing for the next steps in the IPO process.
The listing date has not been finalised, and the final issue size and valuation will depend on market conditions and investor feedback during the roadshows.
NSE IPO: Completely OFS
The DRHP states that the IPO will be entirely an offer for sale (OFS). Existing shareholders are looking to sell equity shares.
Since the issue is an OFS, the shares being offered will come from existing shareholders rather than through a fresh issue by NSE.
20 Banks Appointed
As per the report, NSE has appointed 20 banks to handle the IPO. The banks include Kotak Mahindra Capital Co., JM Financial Ltd., Morgan Stanley, HSBC Holdings Plc and Citigroup Inc.
NSE operates the world’s largest derivatives exchange by trading volume. With SEBI approval in place, the remaining details include the final offer size, valuation, and listing schedule.
