Milky Mist Dairy Food Limited is expected to launch its initial public offering (IPO) in the first week of August 2026, according to a PTI report. The proposed public issue is likely to be the largest IPO by an Indian dairy company, marking a significant development for the country's value-added dairy products segment.

The company's public market debut follows a successful pre-IPO funding round conducted earlier this year. Milky Mist plans to utilise the proceeds from the fresh issue for debt reduction, manufacturing expansion and infrastructure development.

Milky Mist IPO Size And Fundraising Plans

Milky Mist is seeking to raise ₹1,553 crore through its IPO, comprising a fresh issue of shares and an offer for sale (OFS) by promoters. The issue size is lower than the company's earlier plan to raise ₹2,035 crore, as disclosed in its draft documents.

Prior to the IPO, the company raised ₹482 crore in a pre-IPO funding round in May 2026. The investment was made by Jongsong Investments Pte. Limited., an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings.

Milky Mist Valuation After Temasek Investment

Based on the pre-IPO investment price of ₹139.76 per share, Milky Mist was valued at approximately ₹9,300 crore. The investment by Temasek-backed Jongsong Investments strengthened the company's capital base ahead of its public listing.

The pre-IPO round also reflected investor interest in India's growing value-added dairy products market. The upcoming IPO is expected to provide additional funds to support the company's long-term expansion plans.

How Milky Mist Plans To Use IPO Proceeds

According to the company's plans, proceeds from the fresh issue will be used partly to repay existing borrowings. Funds will also support the expansion and modernisation of its manufacturing facility at Perundurai in Tamil Nadu.

The proposed projects include the establishment of whey protein concentrate, yoghurt and cream cheese plants. In addition, the company intends to strengthen its cold-chain network through the deployment of visi coolers, ice cream freezers and chocolate coolers.

Milky Mist Business Model And Dairy Product Portfolio

Founded in Erode, Tamil Nadu, Milky Mist focuses exclusively on value-added dairy products rather than the liquid milk business. Its product portfolio includes paneer, cheese, curd, yoghurt, butter, ghee, ice cream and other dairy-based offerings.

The company is positioned in the premium dairy segment and has built a presence across multiple product categories. Listed peers in the dairy sector include Parag Milk Foods Limited, Hatsun Agro Product Limited and Dodla Dairy Limited.

Conclusion

Milky Mist's proposed IPO is expected to be a notable event in India's dairy industry, with a planned fundraising of ₹1,553 crore. The offering follows a ₹482 crore pre-IPO investment round that valued the company at around ₹9,300 crore.

A significant portion of the funds raised will be directed towards debt repayment, manufacturing expansion and cold-chain infrastructure development. The IPO is expected to mark the company's transition into the public markets while supporting its growth initiatives in the value-added dairy products segment.
