On October 14, 2026, JIO Platforms filed its Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) for its proposed initial public offering (IPO), highlighting its strategic roadmap to expand its technology footprint beyond India.

The company has developed a "Made in India," end-to-end 5G technology stack and proprietary AI platforms, positioning itself as a deep-tech solutions provider for international digital connectivity operators facing network upgrade and expansion challenges.

JIO Platforms IPO: What is the Global Market Opportunity?

According to the Analysys Mason Report cited in the RHP, the global addressable market for JIO’s deep-tech solutions is massive. The total capital expenditure (capex) opportunity for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology solutions in countries with less than 50% broadband penetration is estimated at ₹12.84 trillion (US$143 billion).

Additionally, the one-time capex opportunity for 5G deep-tech solutions for global providers yet to commercially launch 5G is estimated at approximately ₹5.58 trillion (US$62 billion).

Proprietary Technology Stack

JIO is the only digital connectivity provider globally with an end-to-end 5G Standalone (SA) technology stack deployed at a nationwide scale, including a 4G+5G combination core, 5G devices, and its own OSS and BSS operating systems.

This indigenous capability, which makes India only the fifth country globally to possess such a stack, forms the core of JIO's international offering. The company also holds a strategic advantage with its proprietary point-to-point unlicensed band radio (UBR) technology for FWA.

Global Expansion Strategy

To execute its international vision, JIO intends to deploy these technologies in select overseas markets through partnerships with local operators, managed services arrangements, and strategic greenfield deployments.

The company has also appointed Mr. Daniel Bailey as President, International Business, to lead the expansion and licensing of its proprietary digital, 5G, and technology platforms into markets outside India.

Conclusion
