How to Register for Free LPG Connection: Govt to Add 2.5 Million Under PMUY FY26

The government has announced the release of 2.5 million (25 lakh) new LPG connections in FY26 under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). With this expansion, the total number of free LPG connections will touch 105.8 million.
The Centre has approved an expenditure of ₹676 crore, including ₹512.5 crore for deposit-free connections at the rate of ₹2,050 per connection. To benefit from this scheme, eligible women can easily register online or through their nearest distributor.
How to Register Online for Ujjwala 2.0?
Applicants can apply directly through the official portals of Indane, Bharatgas, or HP Gas. The steps are:
- Visit the official website of your LPG distributor.
- Select Ujjwala 2.0 New Connection under the application menu.
- Choose State, District, and Name of Distributor.
- Enter your mobile number, captcha, and OTP for verification.
- Fill in family details, personal information, and category.
- Provide address details, bank account information, and select cylinder type (14.2 kg or 5 kg).
- Indicate migrant family status and submit the relevant declaration (Annexure I or ration card details).
- Review the application, select the declaration checkbox, and submit.
- Generate a reference number.
- Visit your nearest LPG agency with the reference number for final verification and connection release.
Documents Required
- Aadhaar card (except in Assam and Meghalaya).
- Ration card/family composition proof or self-declaration.
- Valid photo ID.
- Bank account number and IFSC.
- Passport-size photograph.
