MakeMyTrip Strengthens UK Stays with Major Hotel Partnership

MakeMyTrip has added over 900 hotel properties from Premier Inn, the largest hotel chain in the United Kingdom, to its international hotel inventory, as per news reports. Premier Inn operates over 800 hotels, comprising around 77,000 keys. The update was shared by the company on July 28, 2025. 

Premier Inn Coverage Across UK Cities

The new listings cover key cities across the UK. Premier Inn operates under the Whitbread Group and also runs hotels in Ireland and Germany. The brand is known for its wide presence across urban and semi-urban locations.

This partnership is part of MakeMyTrip’s direct contracting strategy. Over the past year, the company has onboarded more than 2,000 hotels across 50 cities in 20 countries using direct agreements.

Outbound Travel Focus

The selected cities are locations that together account for more than half of India’s outbound travel. MakeMyTrip is focusing on long-haul destinations such as the UK, the US, and parts of Europe as part of its expansion.

All 900+ Premier Inn properties are now integrated into MakeMyTrip’s hotel listings. Travellers can access these hotels as part of the company’s international portfolio when planning travel to the UK.

Statements from Both Companies

MakeMyTrip’s Co-Founder and Group CEO Rajesh Magow said the development aligns with the company’s international expansion strategy. Tim Sleep, Director of Sales & Distribution at Premier Inn, said the association would help grow the brand’s reach in India and neighbouring markets.

The UK continues to be one of the preferred international destinations for Indian tourists. The updated listings are to increase accommodation choices for Indian travellers visiting the region.
