Vande Bharat Festival Special Train to Run Between Delhi and Patna During Diwali and Chhath Puja

To tackle the increased travel demand during the festive season, Northern Railway has introduced Vande Bharat Festival Special trains connecting New Delhi and Patna. The initiative targets festive travel surrounding Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath Puja while enhancing high-speed and comfortable connectivity.
Festive Travel Boost with Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Specials
Northern Railway announced the launch of the Patna-New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Festival Special Express for passengers travelling around the October-November festive period. The service began on October 11, 2025, and continues till November 17, 2025, with 17 trips from Patna to New Delhi on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.
The return service from New Delhi to Patna started on October 12, 2025, and runs till November 16, 2025, covering 16 trips on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Travel Schedule and Halts En Route
Train number 02253 departs from Patna at 10:00 am, arriving in New Delhi at 11:30 pm. The return train, number 02254, leaves New Delhi at 8:35 am and reaches Patna at 9:30 pm. Key station halts include Ara, Buxar, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction via Mirzapur, Prayagraj Junction, Kanpur Central, and Aligarh Junction, serving critical junctions for ease of access.

20-Coach High-Speed Comfort Rake With Modern Features
The Vande Bharat Festival Special will operate with a 20-coach rake, designed specifically for high-speed travel combined with premium passenger comfort. Northern Railway aims to manage congestion and ensure convenient travel for holiday-bound passengers through these special services.
