
The Ujjain–Shajapur belt is poised for a major industrial transformation as Madhya Pradesh unveiled fresh investments totalling ₹8,174 crore, as per the news reports.
The region is set to evolve into a green energy and solar equipment manufacturing centre following the launch and foundation-laying of multiple industrial units in Shajapur.
Major Industrial Investments and Green Energy Push
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav initiated 6 industrial units, marking a significant step towards establishing the area as a hub for clean energy equipment. The largest project announced is the upcoming unit of M/s Jackson Integrated Solar Limited, which will entail an investment of ₹7,104.89 crore and is scheduled to begin operations by July 2026.
The combined investments are expected to generate more than 15,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, reinforcing the region’s growing importance in Madhya Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem.
Infrastructure Upgrades and Regional Development
In addition to industrial investments, the government launched and approved development projects worth ₹487.36 crore in Shajapur district. Key works include a 38.95 km four-lane road between Ujjain and Maksi at a cost of ₹384 crore, the Lakhundar irrigation project, upgrades to the Berchha–Jhokra–Maksi road valued at ₹110 crore, and a high-level bridge over the Lakhundar river costing ₹20 crore.
Plans were also announced for an Ayurvedic college in Shujalpur and a medical college in Shajapur, further enhancing the region’s social infrastructure.
