Tamil Nadu Government Secures ₹67,542 Crore Investment Deals Across 97 Projects

Tamil Nadu has signed 97 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) involving proposed investments of ₹67,542 crore at the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026, as per The Economic Times news report. The projects are expected to create more than 1 lakh jobs.
The agreements span automotive, renewable energy, life sciences, electronics, research and development (R&D) and data centres. The commitments include new facilities as well as expansion of existing units in the state.
₹1 Trillion in 100 Days
The latest agreements take the state’s cumulative investment commitments to more than ₹1 trillion in the first 100 days of the new government. The commitments are expected to create more than 1.2 lakh jobs.
Industries Minister S Keerthana said the agreements included greenfield and brownfield projects. Greenfield projects involve new facilities, while brownfield projects refer to expansion at existing facilities.
Life Sciences Projects
8 companies signed MoUs in the life sciences sector, with projects in biologics manufacturing, medical devices, diagnostics and vaccines. The sector received commitments of more than ₹2,700 crore.
Caplin Group of Companies will invest ₹925 crore in an integrated biologics and biosimilars R&D and manufacturing facility in Tiruvallur. S3V Vascular Technologies will invest ₹525 crore in Kanchipuram to manufacture cardiovascular and neurovascular implants.
Cellbios Healthcare & Lifesciences has committed ₹150 crore across Dindigul and Krishnagiri. Green Signal Bio Pharma will invest ₹130 crore in Tiruvallur.
Overseas Company Investments
The agreements also include investments by overseas companies. US-based server maker Super Micro Computer is set to invest around ₹500 crore, while France-based construction group Saint-Gobain has committed ₹2,000 crore.
The state government has set a target of building a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036. Advanced manufacturing, electronics, semiconductors, life sciences, renewable energy, aerospace and R&D have been identified as focus areas.
Changes in Approval Process
The government has proposed a Tamil Nadu Investor Promotion Commission for major projects. It has also proposed a 21-day timeline for approvals, licences and no-objection certificates, with deemed approval provisions.
The 97 agreements add ₹67,542 crore in proposed investments, with employment expected across several sectors.
