SAP Labs Opens New Bengaluru Campus with €194 Million Investment

SAP Labs India has opened a €194 million campus in Bengaluru’s Devanahalli, set to host 15,000 employees and expand its AI, engineering, and research operations.

SAP Labs India has opened a 2nd campus in Bengaluru with an investment of €194 million (about ₹1,960 crore), as per news reports. Located in Devanahalli, near the city’s international airport, the campus spans 41 acres. It has a total capacity to accommodate 15,000 employees. Currently, 3,200 employees have already moved in.

The first phase will house 4,500, while the 2nd phase is expected to be completed by Q3 2028.

About Workforce and Facilities

The new site is nearly twice the size of SAP’s existing Whitefield campus. It covers 27 acres of built-up area. The facility will focus on product engineering, enterprise AI work, and customer support functions. SAP employs over 17,300 people in India across multiple locations. 

Apart from Bengaluru, the company also has offices in Gurugram, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune.

Government Presence at Launch

The inauguration was attended by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. State IT Minister Priyank Kharge also spoke at the event. Government officials highlighted the region’s economic growth and its role in India’s tech sector. 

Training and Research Initiatives

SAP announced training and academic collaborations alongside the campus launch. It will invest €100,000 through a partnership with EduBridge to train over 400 underserved youth in AI-related roles, as per reports. Another collaboration with IIT Madras will focus on AI-based brain research. The project plans to use public data for early diagnosis and treatment predictions.

The new Bengaluru facility is part of SAP’s plans to expand operations in India. The company plans to use the location to support global customers with AI tools, data platforms, and application services. It will also serve as a centre for collaboration with partners and academic institutions.
