Key Highlights from the June 2025 MPC Meeting
In the June 2025 MPC meet, RBI had:
- Cut the repo rate by 50 basis points to 5.5%, marking the third rate cut in 2025.
- Lowered the CPI-based inflation forecast from 4% to 3.7%.
- Retail inflation also dropped from 2.8% in May to 2.1% in June.

Why Repo Rate Matters to You
The repo rate is the interest rate at which the RBI lends money to banks.
- A higher repo rate makes loans (home, car, personal) more expensive.
- A lower repo rate makes borrowing cheaper for consumers.
So, any change in the repo rate directly affects your loan EMIs and savings interest.
Conclusion
The upcoming MPC meeting is important for investors, borrowers, and the general public. All eyes will be on the RBI's inflation outlook and any signal about future rate cuts.
